How scams actually work

The four-step shape behind almost every crypto loss, and the one step you control.

Why This Training Exists

1 min

Almost nobody loses crypto to hacking. They lose it because somebody talked them into pressing send. The technology behind a scam is usually nothing special, the persuasion is the product, and it works on clever people just as often as on anyone else.

This training is short on theory and heavy on patterns. By the end you will recognise the handful of scripts that account for most losses in Namibia and across the region, and you will have a checklist you can run in under a minute before any transfer.

The Shape of Every Scam

1 min
ContactTrustDepositSilencethe fastest place to break the chain is before the deposit
Figure — how a typical crypto scam moves your money away from you

Strip away the branding and nearly every crypto scam follows the same four steps. Learn the shape and the specific story stops mattering.

StepWhat they doWhat you feel
ContactReach you on WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or a dating appFlattered, curious
TrustShow screenshots, small payouts, fake certificates, a busy groupReassured
DepositCreate urgency and a limited windowRushed, excited
SilenceFreeze withdrawals, demand a 'release fee', then vanishConfused, ashamed

The only step you fully control is the third one. Everything before it is free for them and costs you nothing. The deposit is the point of no return.
